To be honest, ive been let down by Nintendo and I resolved a long time ago that I wasnt going to buy this one. The Revolution looks stunning and its true that Nintendo has been a major innovator. Mastering a one-handed gaming style would be wicked ausome!
My major problem with Nintendo is that they lack a variety of games. Some of the best games ever are Nintendo exclusives, but a lot of the games we love don't release for Nintendo. Then you have to own TWO systems. I dont have the money for that. I feel like the market is against Nintendo. So far ive clocked maybe 48 hours on my DS. Nintendo's biggest problem is that they only have a handful of games that release with the system. You end up paying a shitload of money and buy the time the game that I really want to play comes out, the damn thing has droped 50 bucks.
With that said, Im gonna stick with the computer.

I dont entirely agree. I think Nintendo has done quite well reciently in trying to broaden it's collection of games. It has branched into almost every catigory, including FPS, and Flight. Nintendo's platform games are by far the best IMHO. Reguadless, I think the new controaller looks very un-eurgonomic. The whole "remote" thing come off lame to me. The fact that they are making you pay to use peripheral's to it a "true" controaller really pisses me off. I think if they are going to do the "remote" thing, they should have the little analog stick plugin come with it. That would be cool. Im not hating on the console btw. I just think that the controaller is wack. The GC one better support all of the games Nintendo comes out with, if not, they lose a lot of crediability in my eyes. Sorry.

There game selection needs to be wider. However, as far as game quality go, Nintendo is tops. Zelda, Mario, and Samus FTW! As for the controler, there definately going out on a limb. I think the controler would be better off GC style. I do like the fact that they are trying to implement different components into the game. RETURN OF THE SUPERSCOPE!!!! I think it would be better if they made the the remote smaller, let it be used for out-of-game controling (or in, whatever the gamer wants), but also make it the broadcaster for whatever controler you wish to use (GC style, gun, donkey kong drum, whatever). The GC style controler should definately be included in the package. To keep up with the market they may want to throw in a couple games too.

What if Nintendo left the console race and just started making games?
Discuss...

No good. It would make Nintendo look weak and make their games less desirable. Im still behind Nintendo 100% of the way, I just dont have the money to buy this new system. Despite my recent disapointments, I can say that I still remain true to the father of modern gaming as we know it. Mario is probably the best known game off all time. Even the doped up loosers who live by GTA still respect Mario. It just wouldnt be the same without the Nintendo console.
I still think that playin Duck Hunt with that gun on the original Nintendo or Super Mario World on the SNES can be as much fun as playin a next gen game. Youd agree with that right? Can you say the same about the PlayStation? I dont think so.

I don't think Nintendo will ever be out of the console race. If we compare them to sega we can see why. Sega at the time they went out had lost money on the last two systems the released sega CD and saturn, they also didn't have a good handheld (gamegear was no good) so all their money had to go into their consoles. Nintendo has money coming from both sides, and gamecube was far from a failure system. But more to the point of the topic, the day i play mario or zelda on a Playstation or Xbox is the day I quit playing videogames.....so i highly doubt it will be happening.

Same here, I knew all about it. Motion dection will be a very difficult thing to debug if they want to make a good product. Alot of things interfer with motion dection... I guess we will have to wait and see. I think this is going to be a flop however.

Yea, its a very cool concept, but impractical IMHO. I think this is Nintendo's attempt to draw a crowd with spiffy peripherals, but average games. I bet you they will apply this to a buch of cheezy Mario platform games. (Add cut-away ripple effect here) - Its the new REVOLUTION Mario baseball or tennis game; and you like an ass, swinging your remote like a bat or racket. Or better yet, a spinoff of Nintendogs; and there you are, grooming your puppy with the remote, awww! (vomiting now)
It will probably be the DS in console form.

I think its a good idea. Id be interested in seeing how good it works. Nintendo has a reputation for building good quality products.
