There is no point in sacrificing specs to shave a few milimeters off the mini. There just trying to get people to buy new pods. =more money. (cus they aint makin much of mac os x) lol

Actually sorry to burst your bubble there Radeon but recently Apple's stock has increased to an all time high, and this has been going over the course of this month. www.macobserver.com/stockwatch/2005/09/06.1.shtmlDon't become one of Gates's minions. I think you should read over the features of OS X over Windows before you make an opinion, I know that once I did, I wasn't so biased about Windows, and this is what got me to go into Linux and explore other avenues in the OS world, to broaden my prospective of computers. Considering you also want to become an Computer Engineer, this may very well may be a good step. Not trying to bash you down or anything, just trying to give you the facts. Here is an excellent site that shows the features of OS X and Windows XP, not the software that works for them, but what the OS can do for itself. www.xvsxp.com/

(cus they aint makin much of mac os x) lol Sacrificing specs? The 4gb model is the same price and size as the first gen iPod mini. Not to mention that the nano is also in color. I admit that it was pretty stupid of them to drop the mini all together but this is hardly a step back. And John N, to small? Aren't you the one thats brought up that little cube mp3 player that you saw on some show?

Rephrase: It's too small for a copy of the same mp3 player. Yes, because that looked really cool and innovative. It wasnt just another miniturized mp3 player. Being that all four of its surfaces were only an inch across and it used only one port for all of its accessories, it has some very cool features for its small size. Im not seeing that kind of innovation with the ipod. Sorry. Im glad that Mac knocked off another inch and added a color screen, but its still an ipod. Ive been very complementary of Apple/Mac, so lets not get defensive, eh?

Oh, I know you have been. Even in your first post you managed to say something nice about it.
I just can't really seem to find anything wrong with it other then where the headphone jack is. It's smaller, in color, has a longer battery life, and has just as much space as the first gen mini.
Does that mean it's worth buying? Not if your already have something similar. But does that make it bad? I don't think so.

Like I said, from the ipod/itunes sales.
I dual boot with Linux. Im taking a class about Linux. If I dont even know how to use it and I like it just as much as Windows.
If I can buy a 20gig player the size of my wallet or a 4gig player as thin as a pencil, ill go with the 20gig. There splitting hairs with these sizes in my opinion.

Thats like going to Walmart and buying $15 shoes when you could go to the mall and buy something better with a bit more money. Your paying for the name and for the quality that the name is known for.

I'm not talking about you not trying to learn other things, its that you are bashing an operating system that you don't know about. Did you know that MACs run on Unix. They are making money from their computer sales, I mean just look at the mob that trampled people trying to get 3 year old ibooks. Anyway... here are some photos of the nano: gallery.ilounge.com/ipod/thumbnails.php?album=42&page=1By the way did you learn how to install or update anything with linux yet?
